The main street Avenida 6 de Agosto and the beautiful shores of Lake Titicaca are a 5-10 minute hill walk down from the centre of town. This is downtown, that has the main pier for boat trips to Isla del Sol, and countless tour agencies, souvenir shops and restaurants. It’s easy to walk there and makes you take in the relaxed, spiritual atmosphere of this unique lakeside town.

Only 10 minutes from the hotel stands the magnificent Basilica of Our Lady of Copacabana. This is a period of time that one can give to the beautiful church and its grounds on their site. A very colorful ‘Bendición de Movilidades’ and very unique local tradition is blessing of the cars which you have an opportunity to witness if you are in that churchyard on any weekend morning. The main market, Plaza 2 de Febrero is just a couple of yards away at the back of this basilica.

Perhaps the most staggering of these is to go for a walk to the viewpoint at Cerro Calvario. The trail up this hill begins at the far end of the main street and is steep, but it's a very rewarding climb that takes 30-40 minutes. Panoramic views over all of the town, Lake Titicaca, and the snow-covered Andes at sunset are truly spectacular and a real highlight. The whole town is safe and it is very easy to get around on foot, which invites discovery.
